Woman of the Year
Woman of the Year 2007
Each November WBN presents a very special award to an outstanding member, WBN's Woman of the Year. This award is designed to honor women who embody the spirit of WBN and who best exemplify the WBN mission statement. WBN's current Woman of the Year has the privilege of chairing a committee comprised of previous honorees to select the year's outstanding member from a pool of nominees. The committee this year was comprised of current WBN members who have been previous Woman of the Year honorees. They are Tammy Everall, Lori Macedone, Emily Evans, Edrie Bizak, and myself.
Our committee looked at the following attributes as well as member input:
- Leadership within and outside of WBN
- Business Success
- Personal Growth
- Professional Growth
- Networking
- Professional Education
- Support to Women
We received SEVERAL worthy candidates for this year’s winner… Thank you all for making our job so hard…. However, this year's Woman of the Year definitely stands out in all the categories by which she is judged worthy of this award. So, let me tell you a little about her…….
- It is said that she was born a party girl.
- A blonde-haired, blue-eyed beauty.
- She has been involved in our organization – I “think” since the mid ‘90s.
- She's a junk mail junkie and is very generous......
- There isn't a judgmental bone in her body.........unless, of course, you dress like a slob!
- She has always been a supporter of women and was very involved with women's clubs and organizations – NOT always in “Eugene.”
- She’s headed programs that helped seniors.
- Her favorite colors are pearl and crystal.
- Oh and she has a million dollar smile....literally!
- She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota.
- Her sorority was Alpha Chi Omega.
- After vacationing in California, she never went back to Minnesota.
- It is said that she lived a wonderful life with one wonderful daughter in a beautiful home in Pacific Palisades. Knowing her, I am sure this is true.
DO YOU KNOW WHO SHE IS YET??? By now she might have a clue…look around the room. WHO IS BLUSHING NOW……
SO, let me tell you a little more.....Here are some comments made by some of you:
- She is VERY professional in ALL her interactions at WBN.
- Her warmth always shines through.
- I hope I am as together as she is when I am her age.
- AND……She is SO YOUNG AT HEART.
- She is an inspiration.
- I am inspired by her work with Meals on Wheels.
- She is always gracious.
- She seems to have boundless youthful energy.
